The upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Origin looks set to reinvigorate the long-standing series with some new features, after breaking away from its annual release format. That is not all what Ubisoft have in mind to apply a fresh look to the series, as they are also releasing a new mobile game.
Simply titled as Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, it pits you against the Templars (as always), with a Fallout Shelter-like environment that requires you to go through different rooms and enemies to reach your objective. "Set in Spain during the height of the Inquisition, Assassin’s Creed Rebellion lets you build out your Brotherhood HQ with new rooms that enable you to train your Assassins and craft new items and equipment. As you level up your Brotherhood, additional rooms and other content become available, opening up new upgrade options,” said the game description on Ubisoft’s official blog.
Just like any other hero summoning mobile games, you’ll need to acquire resources to unlock more Assassins. Once you have a decent base, players will then have the option to send out their Assassins to missions, and each of them will have a unique skill. The missions will net you resources for upgrading the base and Assassins, crafting materials, or advance the storyline, depending on which type that you choose.
All of the features mentioned above are not revolutionary in any sense, but it does sound like a good game to play. Not to mention the cute art style might appeal to a wider audience and create more followers for the main series. Assassin’s Creed Rebellion is still "under development", and it’ll be available for iOS and Android devices. At the meantime, you can check out its gameplay video below.
